The End-Time Windows:

Updated: Mar 12

God’s End-Time Windows

There are “Windows” that one could look through to see where the world is standing regarding End-Time Prophecies.   We are going to refer to them as God’s End-Time Windows.

1st Window: Israel as a whole.

The first window and perhaps one of the most important ones is Israel! A lot of what happens in and around the Jewish religion and Christianity involves the nation of Israel and so End-Time prophecy!

This is a multifaceted window for God’s Word has much to say about the topic.

The historical background

Question:  Why Israel?

The simple answer?  They are God’s choice!

Exodus 19:5

Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine;

Deuteronomy 7: 7-9

The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples.  But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.  Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

Psalm 135:4

For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel for His own possession.

Isaiah 44:21

“Remember these things, O Jacob, And Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you, you are My servant, O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me.

Romans 11:1-2

I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?

Question: Where did it start?

It started with their “physical father”; Abraham!  Who was also to become the “spiritual father” of the Christians.

We know how Abraham was called out of the land of his forefathers to the land that God has destined for him and his descendants.

 Genesis 12:1

The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

We know that God made a covenant with Abram.

Note his name is still Abram.   Was later to become Abraham; meaning “father of many nations”.

Genesis 15: 1-   The Lord’s Covenant With Abram

After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram.  I am your shield, your very great reward.”  But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?”  And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.”   Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.”  He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”  Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.   He also said to him, “I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it.”  But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, how can I know that I will gain possession of it?”   So the Lord said to him, “Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon.”

Abram brought all these to him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other; the birds, however, he did not cut in half.   Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away.  As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him.  Then the Lord said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there.  But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.   You, however, will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age.   In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.”  When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces.  On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram and said, “To your descendants I give this land, from the Wadi[e] of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates—  the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites,  Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites, 21 Amorites, Canaanites.

Abram becomes Abraham

Genesis 17

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless.  Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.”  Abram fell facedown, and God said to him, “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.  No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.  I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.  I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.

Important: Isaac is the promised child and not Ismael (as Islam would like to believe).

Genesis 17:15-27

God said to Abraham, “I will change the name of Sarai,[a] your wife, to Sarah.   I will bless her and give her a son, and you will be the father. She will be the mother of many nations.  Kings of nations will come from her.”   Abraham bowed facedown on the ground and laughed. He said to himself, “Can a man have a child when he is a hundred years old? Can Sarah give birth to a child when she is ninety?”   Then Abraham said to God, “Please let Ishmael be the son you promised.”   God said, “No, Sarah your wife will have a son, and you will name him Isaac.   I will make my agreement with him to be an agreement that continues forever with all his descendants.   “As for Ishmael, I have heard you. I will bless him and give him many descendants.  And I will cause their numbers to grow greatly.  He will be the father of twelve great leaders, and I will make him into a great nation.   But I will make my agreement with Isaac, the son whom Sarah will have at this same time next year.”  After God finished talking with Abraham, God rose and left him.  Then Abraham gathered Ishmael, all the males born in his camp, and the slaves he had bought. So that day Abraham circumcised every man and boy in his camp as God had told him to do.  Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised.  And Ishmael, his son, was thirteen years old when he was circumcised. 26 Abraham and his son were circumcised on the same day.  Also on that day all the men in Abraham’s camp were circumcised, including all those born in his camp and all the slaves he had bought from other nations.

But in order to become that what God had destined Abram to be, he had to be tested first.

 Genessis 22: 1-  Abraham Tested

Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!”  “Here I am,” he replied.

Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”  Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac.  When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about.  On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.  He said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.”  Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together, Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?”  “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied.   “The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”   Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together.   When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.   Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.  But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”   “Here I am,” he replied.   “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”   Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.  So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”  The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time  and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”

Abraham has a physical offspring and a spiritual offspring

Genesis 22:16-17

and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son—  blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.

Do you see it?  Let me help:

a.       as the stars of the heaven  (one from above – spiritual of nature)

b.      as the sand which is on the seashore (and one from below – physical of nature).

God said to Abraham in your seed the nations will be blessed!

 Genesis 22:18

“In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

Note it says here in your seed the nations of the earth shall be blessed.  Who is this seed?

Abraham the father of faith

 Galatians 3:6-9

just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”  Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.   And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham  beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.”   So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.

The Chosen Seed

Galations 3 :15 – 18 The Changeless Promise

Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man’s covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it.  Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ.  And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect. For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

The seed is Jesus!

And Jesus is the author and perfecter of our faith

Hebrews 12:1-3  Jesus, Founder and Perfecter of Our Faith

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,  looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

The land promised to Abraham!

 Genesis 15:18–21

On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram and said, “To your descendants I give this land, from the Wadi of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates—  the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites,  Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites, Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites.”

A land far bigger than today!

From Abraham came Isaac and from Isaac Jacob. Jacob who was to become Israel.

Exodus 6:3

I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the LORD I did not make myself fully known to them.

Matthew 1:1

Jesus Christ came from the family of King David and also from the family of Abraham. And this is a list of his ancestors. From Abraham to King David, his ancestors were:

Abraham, Isaac, Jacob,

Genesis 32:22-32 Jacob's Name Is Changed to Israel

Jacob got up in the middle of the night and took his wives, his eleven children, and everything he owned across to the other side of the Jabbok River for safety.   Afterwards, Jacob went back and spent the rest of the night alone. A man came and fought with Jacob until just before daybreak.  When the man saw that he could not win, he struck Jacob on the hip and threw it out of joint.  They kept on wrestling until the man said, “Let go of me! It's almost daylight.” “You can't go until you bless me,” Jacob replied.  Then the man asked, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered. The man said, “From now on, your name will no longer be Jacob. You will be called Israel, because you have wrestled with God and with men, and you have won.” Jacob said, “Now tell me your name.” “Don't you know who I am?” he asked. And he blessed Jacob.  Jacob said, “I have seen God face to face, and I am still alive.” So he named the place Peniel.  The sun was coming up as Jacob was leaving Peniel. He was limping because he had been struck on the hip,  and the muscle on his hip joint had been injured. That's why even today the people of Israel don't eat the hip muscle of any animal.

The 12 Sons (Tribes) of Israel

Genesis 49: 1-28 Jacob Blesses His Sons

Then Jacob called for his sons and said: “Gather around so I can tell you what will happen to you in days to come. “Assemble and listen, sons of Jacob;    listen to your father Israel.

“Reuben, you are my firstborn,    my might, the first sign of my strength,    excelling in honor, excelling in power. Turbulent as the waters, you will no longer excel,  for you went up onto your father’s bed,    onto my couch and defiled it.  “Simeon and Levi are brothers—    their swords are weapons of violence. Let me not enter their council,    let me not join their assembly, for they have killed men in their anger    and hamstrung oxen as they pleased. Cursed be their anger, so fierce,    and their fury, so cruel!I will scatter them in Jacob    and disperse them in Israel. “Judah, your brothers will praise you;  your hand will be on the neck of your enemies;    your father’s sons will bow down to you. You are a lion’s cub, Judah;    you return from the prey, my son.Like a lion he crouches and lies down,    like a lioness—who dares to rouse him? The scepter will not depart from Judah,    nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs shall come  and the obedience of the nations shall be his. He will tether his donkey to a vine, his colt to the choicest branch;he will wash his garments in wine,    his robes in the blood of grapes.  His eyes will be darker than wine,    his teeth whiter than milk. “Zebulun will live by the seashore  and become a haven for ships;    his border will extend toward Sidon. “Issachar is a rawboned donkey lying down among the sheep pens.  When he sees how good is his resting place and how pleasant is his land,he will bend his shoulder to the burden and submit to forced labor.  “Dan[h] will provide justice for his people  as one of the tribes of Israel.  Dan will be a snake by the roadside,  a viper along the path, that bites the horse’s heels so that its rider tumbles backward.  “I look for your deliverance, Lord.  “Gad will be attacked by a band of raiders,    but he will attack them at their heels. “Asher’s food will be rich;  he will provide delicacies fit for a king.

“Naphtali is a doe set free    that bears beautiful fawns.  “Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring,  whose branches climb over a wall.  With bitterness archers attacked him;  they shot at him with hostility.  But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed[l] limber, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel, because of your father’s God, who helps you,  because of the Almighty, who blesses you with blessings of the skies above, blessings of the deep springs below,  blessings of the breast and womb.  Your father’s blessings are greater than the blessings of the ancient mountains, than the bounty of the age-old hills.Let all these rest on the head of Joseph,  on the brow of the prince among his brothers. “Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; in the morning he devours the prey, in the evening he divides the plunder.” All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said to them when he blessed them, giving each the blessing appropriate to him.

To summerize

God called Abraham by faith out of the land of his forefathers to a land that God had destined for him and his descendants.   We know that this was an everlasting covenant with physical and spiritual offspring.   We know that Abraham faith was tested and that God accounted it to him for righteousness.   We know that Abraham is the father of faith.   We also know that Jesus is the seed of Abraham in who all the nations of the earth is blessed and that Jesus is the Author and Perfecter of our Faith!

So it should by know have become very clear the importance of Israel!

So we see the importance of Israel

Israel and its development is not only important to the Jewish religion but also to us as Christians!

And what people fail to grasp is the importance of Israel regarding End-Time prophecies and events! Therefore the need to address it!

However, it is such a broad spectrum of prophecies and events that one cannot cannot deal with them all in one go, we will have break them up in an number of manageable "windows"!

Thus creating "windows inside of a greater window".

The first window inside the greater window: Formation of a Nation and The return!

To wet the appetite 2 very important prophecies!

Isaiah 66:8

Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, She gave birth to her children.

Jeremiah 16:14-15

“However, the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when it will no longer be said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’ but it will be said, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ For I will restore them to the land I gave their ancestors.

To be continued...
